Peter Suderman on Transformers

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm probably going to take my eleven-year-old son to see it this weekend. Most reviews have pointed out that the movie is a bit sloppy, and there are a couple things that are of questionable taste, but as Peter Suderman points out in his National Review article, none of that matters!

Peter Suderman - Doing the Robot

My favorite bit from the review:

Peter Suderman wrote:
No question, the movie is sloppily directed, poorly paced, and woefully choreographed. Two gigantic robots fighting, it turns out, looks an awful lot like a giant ball of scrap metal and car parts rolling through downtown L.A. But it’s tough to really care about questions like, “Why did that happen?” or even “What’s going on?” when you’re constantly interrupted by “Oh my goodness! Giant robots! Weeee!” Bay doesn’t so much ask you to turn your brain off during the film as stage an attack on your senses that forcibly shuts down your reasoning capabilities.

Sounds like a fun way to kill a couple of hours.
