Tennessee Choose Life License Plates Available

Well, it's about time! A customized license plate that benefits a pro-life charity in Nashville was finally made available after an appeals court threw out a pinheaded lawsuit by the ACLU:

Quote:
The Tennessee litigation concerned an appeal of a federal appeals court decision in a lawsuit the ACLU filed to stop the plates.

The pro-abortion law firm said the plates amounted to so-called viewpoint discrimination since the state legislature approved a bill for Choose Life tags but not a pro-abortion plate. The appeals court ruled the plates could be sold even anyway.

"...but not a pro-abortion plate." No details are given about any pro-abortion plate that any agency actually petitioned to have made. Did Planned [Barren]hood advocate a "Choose Death" plate that the legislature denied? The article does not say, and I haven't heard anything anywhere else about a pro-abortion licence plate being denied. In any event, this is silly; why should not the State of Tennessee advocate a point of view in favor of protecting the unborn? The whole purpose of government is to codify and enforce a point of view for its subjects. "Viewpoint descrimination" is exactly what lawmaking is about.
